Barcelona – On 28 February, Dr Lana Kazkaz, member of the Blanquerna Observatory, participated in the event “Why do we have to defend the right to religious freedom?“, organised by the Office for Religious Affairs (OAR) in collaboration with the Human Rights Resource Centre of Barcelona City Council.

The dialogue event aimed to initiate a discussion on the right to freedom of religion or belief, with two dialogue sessions. The first session was attended by activists and representatives of different religious traditions and beliefs in Barcelona. They shared their experiences and reflections on defending the right to religious freedom in their daily lives.

In the second session, academic experts participated in a panel discussion exploring the concepts of the right to freedom of religion or belief in the context of social justice and cultural diversity. This session was organised by the Human Rights Resource Centre and excellently moderated by Esther Pardo Herrero, Director of the Centre.
