Bahá’í Community of Barcelona

The Bahá’í Community of Barcelona, like other Bahá’í communities around the world, acts in a learning and action mode and is open to all people who strive to promote unity, to contribute to the emergence of a new civilisation and to alleviate human suffering.

Their efforts are aimed at establishing a model of life in which an increasing number of people, regardless of their religious background or denomination, are invited to participate. This model seeks to express the dynamic coherence that must exist between the material and spiritual dimensions of life, and includes classes for the spiritual education of children in which they also develop a deep appreciation for the fundamental unity of the world’s diverse religions; groups that help young people navigate a crucial stage in their lives and resist corrosive forces directed at them in particular; study circles in which participants reflect on the spiritual nature of existence and build capacity for service to community and society; community prayer meetings that strengthen the spiritual character of the community; and, gradually other activities aimed at fostering social and economic development and engaging in the prevailing discourses of society.

At present the Bahá’í community of Barcelona focuses its learning and action process around three interrelated spheres of activity:

  • Community building
  • Social action
  • Participation in societal discourses
