Last week, students from Seminar VI of the Blanquerna-URL Global Communication Management Degree, led by professors Antoni Castells and Lana Kazkaz, visited the Open Arms exhibition at Palau Robert.
The visit was part of their ongoing work on a proposal they are developing for the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV), a European initiative focused on combating discrimination, xenophobia, and intolerance. As part of this process, students are designing projects that aim to promote inclusion and address key social challenges across Europe.
The exhibition offered valuable inspiration for their proposals, providing a powerful perspective on migration, humanitarian action, and the defense of human rights. By engaging with the real-life experiences and initiatives presented by Open Arms, students were able to connect theoretical concepts with practical examples of civic engagement and solidarity.
Following the visit, students participated in a classroom debate on migration, where they discussed and reflected on the themes explored during the exhibition. The debate encouraged critical thinking and the exchange of diverse perspectives, enriching their approach to the development of their project proposals.
