Agreements for education and research with international institutions continue to grow. This May, the Blanquerna Observatory initiated an institutional cooperation agreement with the KOIAS Institute for Atmospheric Studies, affiliated with Kobe University, Japan. Dr. Yuho Hisayama, founder and director of KOIAS, signed the agreement together with Dr. Marc Polo, dean of the Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations-URL, in what promises to be the beginning of a dialogue and research growth between Kobe and Barcelona. Also attending the signing were Dr. Miriam Diez Bosch, director of the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture at Universitat Ramon Llull, and Dr. Victoria Dos Santos, postdoctoral researcher at the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture, who, through her DRIVEN project (funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions), spent one month at the Japanese institution as a research fellow during the month of March.
Dr. Hisayama, a specialist and professor of German literature, also took the opportunity to present his research on atmospheres as a new interdisciplinary academic field, combining philosophy, history, literature, art studies and architecture in order to recognize, explore, understand and deepen the different atmospheres we cohabit and construct within our contemporary existence.
