DIGITAL DISCIPLES (DIDI): EMPOWERING YOUNG CATHOLICS FOR TECH-DRIVEN EVANGELIZATION
This project, led by the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture (URL, Barcelona) with collaboration of the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa and with the support of Porticus Foundation, aims to train and support young people in Spain and Portugal to become digital evangelisers. Responding to declining youth participation in the Church, it offers MOOC training courses, financial aid, and a publication with the aim of disseminating the theoretical reflection produced. The initiative seeks to create leaders who strengthen local communities, professionalize Catholic digital content, and foster collaboration while integrating evangelisation into today’s digital culture.
The project targets young people aged 18 to 25 in Spain and Portugal who are active online and interested in digital communication and evangelisation.
Social Change Goal
The project aims to empower young people to engage actively in the Church, fostering spiritual awareness, community ties, and social inclusion through digital evangelisation, and training a new generation of leaders to use digital tools for dialogue and participation.
In summary: revitalising youth participation and fostering inclusive and technologically adapted religious communities.
