The Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture held a new edition of the Obs Seminar yesterday, Monday, January 26, at the Blanquerna Research Institute. The session was devoted to reflecting on the contemporary relevance of the thought of John Henry Newman in current university debates.
The seminar featured contributions from Dr. Francesc Torralba (URL), Dr. Rosa Alsina (La Salle), Llorenç Puig, SJ (IQS), and Dr. Anna Pagès (Blanquerna), and was moderated by Pilar Baradat Marí, a member of the Blanquerna Observatory.
During the session, the speakers shared their interpretations and reflections on the ideal of the university proposed by Newman and its relevance today. The seminar concluded with an open Q&A session with Blanquerna students, who had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the speakers and further explore the ideas presented.
The event, which was open to the public and included a reserved row for URL students, became a space for dialogue and participation between faculty and students.
