How to build an anti-racist city?

The Blanquerna Observatory of Communication, Religion and Culture attended the Barcelona City Council‘s conference on the occasion of the International Day against Racism, entitled “Com construir una ciutat antiracista?” (How to build an anti-racist city?), on Thursday 20th of March, 2024. The event was held in the Saló de Cent, and was a meeting to reflect on anti-racism in the city with diverse personal and professional profiles, presenting the municipal strategy against racism of the city council. The event featured speeches by people responsible for anti-racist policies at municipal level, culminating in the reading of a manifesto by the Barcelona Municipal Immigration Council and the Municipal Council of the Roma People. To conclude the event, the performing artist and cultural agitator Vignesh Melwani performed two songs focused on intercultural and interreligious dialogue and tolerance.
