On October 23 and 24, 2025, the III International Conference on Aporophobia will be held online, organized by Ramon Llull University together with leading social organizations such as Caritas, Arrels Foundation, Pere Tarrés Foundation, Assís, Cristianisme i Justícia, and Jesuit Social. Among the organizers is the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture.
The keynote speaker will be Professor Imogen Tyler (Lancaster University, United Kingdom), an expert on stigma and social inequalities. In addition, there will be preparatory reading groups on works by Adela Cortina, Imogen Tyler, and Ferran Grau, who will also participate in sessions during the conference.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness of and combat aporophobia, a form of discrimination that worsens poverty and deepens social exclusion.
