On December 20, 2023, Blanquerna doctoral student Lana Kazkaz presented her thesis entitled: “Extremism and Hate Speech in Arabic-Speaking Media.” Under the supervision of Dr. Míriam Díez Bosch.
Her thesis examined the religious hate speech produced by the Arabic-speaking media, and whether there is a relationship between their discourse and the conflicts that have taken a sectarian turn after 2011.The study compares several media outlets in more than one country in the Middle East and North Africa region.
