This Thursday, March 21st, the Observatori visited the Raval neighborhood, specifically the Rambla del Raval, to celebrate the popular Iftar organized by the Interreligious Group of Raval (GIR). The event focused on the theme “The indispensable and indisputable role of young women in the neighborhood in building a community-oriented, sustainable, respectful Raval that sees diversity as a strength of the territory.”
The celebration began with an introduction from the GIR, followed by a contextualization of the event’s theme and a reading of a community story, collectively created by a group of girls from the neighborhood. The final part of the event ended with the reading of the slogan in several languages (Catalan, Bengali, Arabic, Amazigh, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, and Spanish).
The call to prayer, after the reading of the slogan, marked the beginning of the community dinner, breaking the fast.
