Blanquerna Observatory intern Júlia Mora, a Global Communication Management student, attended the presentation of the book Leo XIV: The Legacy of Francis and the Future of the Church, by religion journalist Jordi Pacheco, held at the College of Journalists of Catalonia.
The event, organized by Editorial Claret, featured Carme Munté (Catalunya Cristiana) and Francesc Romeu (priest, journalist, and author of the book’s epilogue), who discussed with the author the challenges facing the new pontiff Leo XIV (Robert Prevost) and the continuity of Pope Francis’s legacy.
Pacheco emphasized that “the continuity of Leo XIV is inevitable; he will follow the path traced by Francis,” and explained that the aim of the book is to “bring the Church’s context closer to Catalan society.” Romeu added that the new pope will have “a different style of governance” and that his missionary background in Peru will influence his papacy.
The event concluded with remarks by Ramon Bassas, Director General for Religious Affairs, who described the book as “a necessary contribution to religious journalism.”
