Religion and Media Story Dating

The “Religion and Media Story Dating” project was a gathering organized by the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture under the KAICIID International Fellows Programme. The initiative was created with the purpose of promoting a more precise coverage of religious communities and interreligious dialogue by the news media. It consisted of a series of workshops where members of religious communities and journalists got together in a speed dating format, where the latter had the opportunity to get to know leaders of different confessions and vice versa, with the purpose of building bridges and
promoting dialogue.

The workshop took place on September 9th of 2019 at Blanquerna University of Communication and International Relations. Some of the professionals that were part of the gathering were Alba Sabaté, journalist and deputy director of the Observatory; Anna Massallé, specialist in migrations and religions and representative of the General Directorate of Religious Affairs of Generalitat de Catalunya; Jordi Llisterri, director of Catalunya Religió and cofounder of Animaset; Mohamed El Amrani, social communicator and president of Azahara Association; and Patricia Coll, journalist specialized in digital communications, from Blanquerna FCRI.
