‘Sant Jordi is a time when there is a lot of information and it is difficult to collect it all,’ according to Ramon Bassas, director general of Religious Affairs. For this very reason, on 23 April, a list of 100 of the best spiritual exemplars have been compiled. The director pointed out that in the West, people’s relationship with religion is becoming more and more reflective and individual, and that it is important that the spiritual quest be carried out by knowledgeable essayists, providing quality books for those who are interested in and want to approach spirituality. This initiative is also part of the plan to promote the use of Catalan as a language of social integration within religious entities.
Publishers such as Abadia de Monsterrat, AKIARA, Albada and Fragmenta Editorial attended the Laie bookshop on 8 April to present some of the books featured on the list. The list includes: Pressència de l’absència, by Ferran Sáez Mateu; Gràcies, Mare Terra, by Vanina Starkoff; Soc preciosa, by Glòria Gil; La llum de les estrelles mortes, by Massimo Recalcati, and El sentit de tot plegat, by Joan Estruch, Clara Fons and Elisenda Sevilla, among other examples.
