Staying Strong Under Stress: Lessons in Leadership from DevelopmentAid

Posted on

In July, Kira Neumann, an intern at the Observatory, took part in the DevelopmentAid webinar “A Leadership Blueprint for Thriving Under Pressure.” The session provided a practical exploration of how to remain effective and confident in high-pressure situations — a topic of particular relevance within the international development sector and beyond.

The webinar focused on offering actionable strategies to strengthen leadership capacity in challenging or uncertain environments. Led by experienced professionals, the discussion covered key themes such as mental resilience, adaptability, and balancing decision-making speed with thoughtful analysis.

Participants were introduced to practical tools for applying these principles in daily professional contexts — from staying composed during critical moments to fostering open communication within teams. The session highlighted that thriving under pressure does not mean eliminating stress, but rather developing the mindset and skills to navigate it constructively.
