In early August, four members of the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture traveled to the United States to take part in the latest edition of the ISMRC Conference (International Society for Media, Religion and Culture), held at Boston College (Massachusetts). The director of the Observatory, Dr. Miriam Diez Bosch, currently serves as the president of this international society.
The team was made up of the director herself, deputy director Dr. Alba Sabaté, and PhD candidates F. Joby Kappiparambil and Pilar Baradat Marí. Several projects developed by the Observatory were presented, including DIALOCAT, focused on interreligious dialogue in Catalonia; Catholic Influencers, which analyzes the phenomenon of Catholic Media Influencers on social media; and Islamedia, which explores Islam’s media coverage.
Additionally, PhD candidates Kappiparambil and Baradat were selected to take part in the pre-conference meeting dedicated to early-career researchers, where they had the opportunity to present and receive mentorship on their doctoral theses from international experts in the field.
