The Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture took part in the XXIV Annual Meeting of the Spanish Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ReFAL), held at the Fundación Tres Culturas in Seville on 21–22 May 2026. The event brought together organisations and professionals committed to promoting dialogue, cooperation, and understanding across the Mediterranean.
Representing the Observatory were Dr. Lana Kazkaz and Dr. Victoria Dos Santos. Victoria presented the Driven MSCA project (digital avatars, religion, and embodiment) during the Mercado de Ideas y Proyectos, sharing its objectives and exchanging experiences with members of the network working on related initiatives, such as digital culture, freedom of expression and interreligious dialogue.
Both representatives also participated in the social theatre workshop “Habitarnos. Latidos de ida y vuelta“, a creative space that encouraged reflection and intercultural dialogue through collective storytelling and performance. The workshop offered an opportunity to connect with participants from different organisations and explore shared challenges and experiences.
The meeting also provided valuable opportunities for networking and exchange. Through the different sessions and discussions, members shared projects, explored possibilities for collaboration, and reflected on the role of civil society in strengthening dialogue across cultures. Lana Kazkaz and Victoria Dos Santos attended as well the presentations on ReFAL’s future priorities and plans, gaining insight into the network’s upcoming initiatives and areas of work.
This year’s meeting was particularly meaningful as it coincided with the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, celebrated on 21 May. The gathering highlighted the importance of creating spaces for dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation across cultures—values that were reflected throughout the activities and discussions held during the meeting.
