The Call for Papers for the III International Conference on Freedom of Religion and Belief organized by the Chair of Freedom of Religion and Belief of Ramon Llull University has been opened. The congress will take place on January 28, 29, and 30, 2026.
Practical proposals that explain initiatives on religious freedom, the promotion of interreligious and interfaith dialogue are also welcome. In this case, a summary of what will be presented is also required, with a maximum of 500 words, along with the author’s institution. Communications can be submitted in Catalan, Spanish, English, or French.
Proposals can be submitted until September 14, 2025, at the following form.
All proposals (accepted or rejected) will receive a response after being reviewed by a committee.
The Congress will take place in Barcelona from January 28 to 30, 2026. During the registration process, it will be necessary to indicate whether a communication or initiative will be presented. Students (undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral) and staff of Blanquerna will be able to participate without cost, while students from other centers will get a discount. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance, and those who present a communication will receive a certificate confirming their presentation at the Congress.
The meeting will have the following goals
- To share local, regional or international best practices in managing religious diversity and promoting freedom of religion and conscience.
- To analyze international standards for assessing the exercise of the right to freedom of religion or conscience and for preventing violations.
- To stimulate debate among experts and heads of international organizations on the international situation and trends in freedom of religion and conscience, as well as on methodologies, categories and indicators for analyzing the reality of religious freedom.

The Chair, established within the framework of the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion, and Culture, is a research and dissemination space with the main objective of studying and analyzing the situation of religious freedom and freedom of conscience in Catalonia.
