Valentina Laferrara, member of the Blanquerna Observatory on Communication, Religion and Culture, participated on 4 August in the online symposium Rethinking Media, Religion and Secularities, organized by the International Society for Media, Religion and Culture (ISMRC) 2021, which aimed to explore how the existence of secularity is questioned in contemporary culture. On the occasion, Laferrara presented the results of a research carried out within the framework of the Blanquerna Observatory, entitled “Laicism, Intolerance and Discrimination: How Does the Digital Media Cover the Right to Freedom of Religion and Belief?” The study analyses the presence and treatment of incidents against the right to Freedom of Religion and Belief in the main Spanish digital media, as well as the leading organizations or associations in this subject.
