From November 12th to 15th of November 2024, the “Catholic Media Influencer Summit: Mission in the Digital Environment” organized by the McGrath Institute for Church Life of the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, United States) took place. Dr. Alba Sabaté (deputy director of the Blanquerna Observatory) and the doctoral students and Obs members Kappipparambil y Pilar Baradat Marí attended it.
The event took place in Illiniois, at University of Saint Mary of the Lake, where the participants met to attend talks and joint debates on the new challenges and opportunities for the Catholic Church in the digital space. Some notable speakers were Msgr. Lucio Ruiz (from the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication), Alessandro DiSanto (co-founder of Hallow, the number one catholic mobile app) or Sister Theresa Aletheia (from Sisters of the Little Way).
The international meeting is part of the project on catholic influencers carried out by the McGrath Institute for Church Life in collaboration with the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture and the Porticus Foundation of the United States.
