The Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture participated on May 11, 2026, in a dialogue session organized by the parish community of Sant Ildefons, under the title “La visita de Lleó XIV: impacte social, projecció política i influència espiritual“.
The session featured the participation of Manuel Manonelles, associate professor at Blanquerna-Universitat Ramon Llull and former director of the Centre d’Estudis de Temes Contemporanis, who offered a reflection on the social, political, and spiritual dimensions of Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming visit to Barcelona.
The meeting took place just a few weeks before the Pontiff’s trip to the city, scheduled for June, whose central event will be the inauguration of the Jesus Christ tower of the Basílica de la Sagrada Família.
The initiative promoted a shared space for reflection on the meaning of this visit for the Church and contemporary society.
