This Wednesday, February 23rd, the webinar “Crossed Looks: ‘disability’ in communication” was held on the topic of how journalistic, business, humorous and cinematographic communication affects the view that society has on people with functional and intellectual diversity. The meeting was attended by 46 people and revolved around the following questions:
- What are the appropriate terms to define this group?
- Are we able to see the ability of a person who belongs to this group?
- How to achieve a normalization of this group?
- What is the role of the media, the film industry and business in these terms?
The speakers were Myriam Ponsa (Psychology PhD and Professor at the Blanquerna-URL School of Health Sciences), Judit Mata (Communications PhD, economist, certified coach and Professor at the Blanquerna-URL School of Communication and International Relations), Mar Rosàs (Humanities PhD and Professor at the Blanquerna-URL School of Health Sciences), Eladio Herranz Frías (Psychologist, actor and author of the book “The third day: Walking on wheels”), and Judith Colell (Director, screenwriter, film producer and Director of the Degree in Audiovisual Communication at the Blanquerna-URL School of Communication and International Relations).
